HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
Sending love to Fathers everywhere...
My Dad was a hard working man and had been all his life. We always lived on a farm, which meant we all worked and he always led the pack, ha. I don't know how he managed everything the way he did. As I think now, it amazes me that he was able to deal with all the book work he had to take care of also with just a 5th grade education. But he always managed. I think my Mom was the really big helper he needed for sure. He always provided for his family, I never remember being hungry or without anything. All little girls see their Dad as the biggest, strongest man ever. I knew mine was. My brother found that out real quick also. One nite he came home late and decided to get smart with Dad. He was begging for a fight and decided to stand up to Dad. He found out real quick he was an 18 year old kid!! He was very strong that nite for sure. But he was so very soft also. My little sister got her hair cut and my Dad cried, his baby seemed changed and it was obvious she wasn't a baby any longer. She was his pick of our litter I think. He never cared if I cut my hair nor if I looked like I wasn't a baby anymore, ha ha. But I tried to be more like a boy so I would be my Dad's pal. And that worked fine for me and for my special Dad.
My Dad died in 1973. He was only 60 years old.
Not a day goes by that I don't have thoughts of him and our family. Of all the good times we had and what he did to make us a family and keep us going. TRUE
