I was listening to NPR this morning, and I could NOT believe what I was hearing.  (Though to be honest...not surprised at all).  Iowa, first state to hold the presidential primaries, is being smothered in politicians and interviewers.  An NPR reporter was speaking with a couple of democrats, and while one was solidly and decisively behind HRC, the other was waffling.  Why?  Because he's considering how much the republicans don't like her.  Now, call me crazy, but I haven't heard THAT one before (at least when the candidate wasn't a woman).  He said, "So many of them just flat don't like her.  They can't really articulate why, but if she's so unliked..."  SINCE WHEN DO POLITICIANS LIKE ONE ANOTHER?

I don't care who people vote for...as long as they make an intelligent, informed decision.  Good god we're not on the playground again are we?

When it comes to politics I question if we ever left the playground.

Personally if HRC is going to make a run.......NOW is the time. Odds are she'll get my vote. After all she did pretty darned good during her first 2 terms.

It is going to be a pretty interesting race for the democratic nominee. We've never had a black man and a woman running as popular as Hillery and Oboma are at this point anyway. I've always believed and said this country would elect a black male before it would elect a women as presedent...What do you guys think ?

I agree, Mykal.

I never vote party. I always look at a candidate's track record and then make up my mind. Wouldn't matter to me about gender or race, if they had been standing their ground for the people.

Mykal,
As much as I would like to say "We'll elect the best candidate."  I have to begrudgingly agree that even in a competition between two underrepresented groups, the penis still wins.

And we think we're so progressive.
