your silence is visible
it stings my ears
assaults my eyes

I cant help this feeling
of being left out
childish?
I don't think so
it's like she's crafted
something
that was once mine

is she a warmer colour?
is she brighter?
perhaps a deeper
red..

I don't feel
that I can accommodate her
I don't really want to
yet you insist

am I selfish?
you would answer
yes

who was it that wrote
Histories are more full
of examples of the fidelity
of dogs than of friends?

Pope I think,
I can't really remember
no matter....

but I do know
you think the world of her
when once
you thought the world of me

How well you have caught that feeling, Stella2, when one is no longer where they were and someone else in in there place.

The last stanza is an excellent closure, Zy

Your poem touched me deeply. It's something that I can empathise with so easily. I think that most of us have been there at one time or another. Thank you for sharing this.

I'm not the best at commenting on other folks stuff, and I should do, I absolutely adored this poem its sparse interplay is laced with feeling without being OTT best thing I've read on here for a while well done.
