Time

~~

The body may creak

But the mind

Shrieks

Get me out of here!

Age is no respecter

Of integrity

The mind’s in constant fear

Of the body ailing

Not able to move

Hands tremble, feet stumble

Hearing muted, sight failing

No longer being able to groove!

Time is a bitch!

Hi Val

Time sure is a 'bitch' - great poem which I enjoyed - Though I'm sure you still have loads more 'grooving' inside of you.

Take care

Emma

hahaha....we Grans can say this with conviction, Val!!!

I have not been too well recently and just popping in and out, (even deleted my submissions on UKA yesterday, as cannot keep up) and I seem to have missed quite a few great poems, am having a lovely start to the day with all this fabulous poetry, I couldn't do better in a store! Love your 'knocking' aging poem, isn't it awful when the wrapping isn't lasting as long or as well as the contents....love Zy x

Thankyou Zy. I am sorry to hear that you are not so well, I hope it's nothing too serious, the weather isn't helping either is it!! Did you enjoy your anniversary? I hope you and David had a lovely day, take care. Love Val xx

It's a similar problem as that which I make reference to in my previous reply above, Val, spent some time yesterday having it seen to, so with time should be fine, and yes, we had a really nice time yesterday, despite. Thanks, we love your  poem, Zy x

Thanks LB. I like having the knowledge, the patients and the appreciation of the good things in life that age brings, but this is where God uses his sense of humour or who knows, his revenge! just when you learn how to live life, everything starts to pack up!
Oh Well, the sooner you accept the inevitability of it all, the sooner you get some peace of mind I expect   Love Val xx
