HELP! At one time I was sure I saw a post with a recipie for homemade clear coat using flour and water. I would like to try this but can't find it any more. Any help would be appreciated. Post replies here or send to [email protected]

From what I remember from grade school, flour and water made paste. That was over 60 years ago so I could be wrong. Mick.

the flour and water combination was to make the glue like paste to stick your pattern to your wood......im pretty sure it isnt used as a clear coat but there could be a possibility that im wrong. i remember seeing it too but that was months ago sorry...hope this helps

I used to be a cub scout leader for 8 years and we did many projects that needed a clear coat like you are describing.  We used elmer's glue and water.  It will go on a little milky, but it will dry clear.  Don't remember the correct ratio, but I'm sure it isn't to hard to figure out.  Try to experiment on scraps.  Hope this is helpful.
