I had to purchase A Rhyming History of Britain by James Muiren as naturally I thunk of Painter posthaste LOL  This is an amazing feat indeed as the gentleman goes from 55BC thru 1966 in epic poetry of the history of Britain, commencing with the Romans:

The Romans, who had got their hands
On all the European lands,
Could see this last annoying bit,
And thought they ought to conquer it.
Their famous Caeser, Julius,
Did not know what to make of us -
He couldn't work out who was who
Since everyone was painted blue.

And it just gets funnier from there, trust me.  Some of the illustrations are hilarious....a sailor from the White Ship is bobbing about in a life preserver with a bottle of beer all tanked, Eleanor of Aquitaine is peeping out the door of the exclusive neon-lit Members Only Club Eleanor which is guarded by a couple of mob-like thugs, the Wars of the Roses is depicted as a row of pruned pots with the red roses lying next to them, there's a newsboy outside the Tower peddling a tabloid with the headline PRINCES SHOCK as regards the Princes in the Tower, Henry VII is Elvis with a neon sign trumpeting I AM THE KING, Cranmer is spray-painting DOWN WITH THE POPE on castle walls, Wyatt's Rebellion has banners saying NO WAY JOSE as regards the Spanish marriage, Mary is reading The Towering Inferno as Latimer & Ridley burn outside her window....& the bestest one of all is Amy Robsart follwing Robert Dudley down a staircase as he eats a banana & sneakily drops the peel behind him PMSL

This is jolly good fun & I am being vastly amused by it....worth the perusal, peeps!
