My how flies....April 21st of 2009 is the 500th anniversary of Henry VII shucking off his mortal coil & Henry VIII ascending the throne.  Alas no one cares about the former, but the latter is garnering some hoop-dee-doo at Hampton Court....Henry rates like a 3 month long conference   Anyone going to Surrey?  There's even going to be a Tudor rock concert   See HERE for details.

Why do they never do anything with poor old Henry VII?

It is a shame, he's regarded as quite a boring King, the only exciting thing he ever did was to seize the throne. But his reign is full of interest if people look for it - Lambert Simnel, Perkin Warbeck, Scots invasion, invasion of Brittany, succession crisis etc.

Even TTOS skipped him   I would hazard the king in his counting house counting all his money isn't nearly as titillating as Junior's shenanigans ROFL

I thought he died on St George's Day....isn's that April 23rd, or is that one of those shifting holidays like Easter & Christmas?

Henry VII died on 21 April, two days before SAt George's Day. This year is also the 500th anniversary of the death of his mother Margaret Beaufort, she survived her son by two months and died on 29 June 1509.

Nyaaah I was right LOL  But methinks Henry picked St George's Day as his "official" birthday.  Those royals are greedy.....why should they get 2?

I sure hope Margaret Beaufort was cuter than this when she was 13 & breeding:

Can you believe this old harridan was married 4 times?  Methinks they weren't real picky in those days LOL
