Ok.....what was up with the Stuarts that 57 years after the Glorious Revolution, they were STILL trying to ram Catholicism down England's throat & seize the throne? When I think of the slaughter to come at Culloden.....
Granted, the Hanoverians weren't the most exciting branch of the Stuart tree, & their claim to the throne came through the female line (Elizabeth, sister of Charles II & James II), but the people had spoken most forcefully in rejecting James, his religion, & his male heir in favor of William & Mary.....& yet here is his grandson raising his standard & calling out the clans for another bloody shot at it.
