If you could choose ONE specific moment to time-travel back to Tudor England (1485-1601), which day would you pick, & why? |

I would like to go back to the day of Amy Robsart's death. I'd love to be able to find out whether it was accident, suicide, or murder. Louise |

Oh, too many things to choose from! Today, methinks I'd like to visit during the celebrations of the birth of the New Year's Boy, Prince Henry. H8 was still young & handsome, and all the jousting & celebrating would have been something to see! terrilee |

I'd love to have seen Anne Boleyn's coronation! She is my favorite queen. I love her sassiness! lol |

This might not count as a Tudor moment, but I'd love to find out what happened to the Princes in the Tower. Did Richard III really have them murdered? Or was it Henry VII? My own gut feeling is that it was Henry VII. But wouldn't it be magnificent to be able to go back and forth from that era to our own, observing the doings of the high and low? I would love to know what it was really like to be part of the royal entourage -- probably quite boring most of the time, but still! |

Personally, I have absolutely no doubt about Richard's guilt at all, but it would be quite interesting to be able to present definite proof that he did it. Get Columbo on the case, he'd soon sort Richard out...."Just one more thing, your grace...." Louise |

I believe it was me (I?) who originally said I'd like to find out who really killed the Princes in the tower. On further reflection, there's another moment that I think I'd like to return to even more -- the wedding night of C. of Aragon and Prince Arthur. Did they or didn't they? Realistically, I suppose, I'd have to be a fly on the wall for the whole period of their marriage to really know. But to know the true answer to that momentus question would be such a thrill! Merry and Happy Christmas, everyone. Linda, in very snowy Ottawa |

There are sooooo many I would want to choose (many already mentioned) but I would love to be able to eavesdrop on the conversation between Henry and Cromwell when Cromwell revealed the rumours about Anne's "adultery". Did Henry really believe Anne was guilty? Or did he openly plot with Cromwell to bring about the execution of the woman he had once so passionately loved, knowing she was innocent? I think he probably just pretended to believe it because to was conventient, and probably tried to convince even himself it was true. But we'll never know for sure (sigh). |

I think Henry knew it wasn't true, but just wanted to rid himself of Anne because she didn't live up to her side of the bargain by producing a male heir. He must have felt that he did all those things for her and she gives him another female! Also, he probably didn't want a long drawn out, messy divorce like he had with Katherine of Aragon As for the love they shared, well you've heard the old adage that there's a thin line between love and hate. So, off with her head!

It might have been interesting to be a fly on the wall when Anne finally surrendered her virginity to Henry After all those years of waiting, his expectations must have been enormous, & no woamn could possibly have lived up to them. I bet Henry felt cheated from that moment on & only the fact that she conceived so quickly made him marry her. He might have dropped her entirely had she not been so fast to get pregnant. |

I don't think Anne Boleyn was a virgin when she finally gave in to Henry. Don't forget that she had been a member of the French court for some years before coming back to England and was rumoured to be an affianado of courtly love and of course as mentioned, there was Thomas Wyatt. |
