What did Thomas Boleyn hope to gain by placing Anne in the Imperial Court, & later, after Louis had died & Mary Tudor married Charles Brandon, arranging for both Mary & Anne to remain in France in Queen Claude's household?  Certainly there had to be an advantage in it for him somewhere.  What was it?

Bragging rights?  My kids are serving in foreign courts & yours ain't?   How come George never got to go anywhere or do anything when he was a youngster?

Let's face it, Boleyn was a social climber.  The French court was thought of as the epitome of sophistication.  What better place to have them where they could "catch" a French husband of some rank.  If that happened, then he would have a foothold in the French court as well as in the English one.
