Hello, all.

I have recently moved to a larger place, so now I have blank walls to fill with photos, prints, etc.

I've had an idea now for a few years that I'd like to have small reproductions of some of the War of the Roses/Tudor people who I've been reading about all these years. I can look at lots of reproductions in my various books, of course, but I'd really like to have small pieces that I could frame (inexpensively!) and hang in a large grouping on a wall.

I've browsed around on eBay and turned up blank (but I'm not an eBay regular, so maybe I just don't know where to look?). I've also checked out the National Portrait Gallery site (the UK one, I mean). They appear to have a few things that you can order, but not the treasure trove that I was hoping for.

Does anybody know where I could obtain small colour reproductions of Tudor portraits?

Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Linda

I've had a look at the NPG site and you can order prints of various sizes of almost any portrait in the Gallery. However they can be expensive, especially with postage added.

Hi, Mark.

Yes, I saw that too, but even the smallest size they offer is larger than what I have in mind. I'm thinking of prints about postcard size or smaller. The smallest size the National Portrait Gallery offers is quite a bit larger than that.

Someone else has suggested to me that I download public domain reproductions onto a CD, and get my local UPS store to print them onto photo paper. I think I'm going to try that!

But other suggestions are, of course, still welcome.

Thanks.

Linda

The thread Royal Mail Stamps at the top of The Plantagenets page has link to the Royal Mail shop where you can buy postcard size copies of the series of stamps on the Plantagenet Kings. Hopefully the Tudors will be next.

There's a new Anne Boleyn oil painting (22" x 19", yesm I know tis bigger than a postcard but I found it & have never seen it before so I am posting it LOL) for sale HERE.  Discovered a rather cartoony Elizabeth & some Tudor queens more in Linda's size range (4" x 6") on eBay HERE.  Scroll down the page to have a squizz at them.

O look Elizabeth a la anime LOL HERE.  AND you can get repros of Tudor miniatures (now we're talking) over HERE.  Any site that doesn't give one a price must be pricey tho.

TudorHistory.org gives permission to print their stuff HERE, you could resize on your pc to a smaller one.  Also lots on Tudor England: Images HERE.  Colored ink & decent grade of paper might be cheaper than purchasing in the long run.

I do hope The Royal Mail does a Tudor series   I scored the Wars of the Roses ones from a friend in Lancashire ***FREE***

Thank you, Greensleeves.  I'm thinking of buying photos of scenes from Tudor movies instead.  Genevieve Bujold and Richard Burton might look pretty good on the wall!
