Hi All, please use this thread to add names of the books you have found helpful, insightful or simply enjoyable. The title and author will be sufficient, but please feel free to leave a little about your recommended books. I will then add these to the book list in the side bar, and hopefully link the titles to amazon where others can purchase a copy or read the reviews and synopsis. Thankyou Love & Light Gem x |

Do you ever feel safe when you visit certain places but don't know why, this book could make you see the light.. Psychic Power - Ted Andrews Crystal Balls and Crystal Bowls - Ted Andrews Psychic Protection - Ted Andrews ... Very useful for all walks of life. Psychic Development for Beginners - William W Hewitt Way to Be! : Nine Ways to be Happy and Make something of your Life - Gordon B Hinckley. Crossing Over - John Edwards .... Fasinating to read. No Death, No Fear - Thich Nhat Hanh Above is just a small selection of what is available out there,, if you go to Amazon.co.uk there are simple hundreds (near enough) of books that cover and large range of spiritual subjects.. The books that I have commented on are those that I own myself, you might notice that "Ted Andrews" is one of my favourite authors at the time, he is excellent in his scripture, I have been searching around the web for a while now looking for information on Animal totems/spirits, and shapeshifting, Ted Andrews name kept being mentioned time and time again, so I went looking for book by him,, I really didn't expect to find that he had wrote so many varied titles, but the guy seems to know what he is talking about....... I hope that the rest of you find his work as useful as myself... Just one thing before I finish off here,, if you are looking for a perticular book, be sure that if ordering over the net that the supplier doesn't have to import it in for you as this can often make it more expensive, and will take alot more time to reach you..... My advice should this be the case, look at a number of different sites, and I'm sure you will find what you are looking for locally... If all else fails, you can always order it from you local book shop... May you choice of reading bring you enlightment and understanding,, Take care of yourselves,, I am DarkWolf...... |

I've just finished reading an excellent and informative book which you should try. It's entitled 'From the Holy Mountain' by William Dalrymple and it explores the relationship between ancient and present day Christian, Islamic and other faiths in the near middle east and their place within the politics of the region. You can probably get it from your local library but if not its available in paperback, here's a brief synopsis: "In 587 a.d., two monks set off on an extraordinary journey that would take them in an arc across the entire Byzantine world, from the shores of the Bosphorus to the sand dunes of Egypt. On the way John Moschos and his pupil Sophronius the Sophist stayed in caves, monasteries, and remote hermitages, collecting the wisdom of the stylites and the desert fathers before their fragile world finally shattered under the great eruption of Islam. More than a thousand years later, using Moschos's writings as his guide, William Dalrymple sets off to retrace their footsteps and composes "an evensong for a dying civilization""

Hi Haven peeps I would like to recommend a book..... It is called 'Women Who Run With The Wolves' and is written by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. It is a million-copy bestseller, although I had never heard of it until recently! lol A good frind of mind recommended I read it, and I recommend it to all women and men who know a woman to buy it for (I ordered my copy from internet and got it for $10 with p&p which is 5.91 in UK!) Truly an amazing read.... Love & Blessings, Raven xx 'Within every woman there lives a very powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity and ageless knowing. She is the Wild Woman, who represents the instinctual nature of women. But she is an endangered species. In Women Who Run With The Wolves, Dr. Estes unfolds rich intercultural myths, fairy tales and stories, many from her own family, in order to help women reconnect with the fierce, healthy, visionary attributes of this instinctual nature.....In this remarkable book, we retrieve, examine, love and understand the Wild Woman and hold her against our deep psyches as one who is both magic and medicine. Fertile and life-giving, it is a psychology of women in the truest sense, a knowing of the soul.' |
