 A story that hopefully will run for a long time. I`ll set the scene with a line or two. Any budding authors who would like to add a sentence or two are most welcome. Your intrigue, imagination, humour is what makes the story. All I ask is keep the two main characters throughout which is what the story/plot is about. Undoubtably other characters will be involved..Have fun !  The two characters below are purely fictitious, and in no resemble anyone. The two main characters are.......Shelia 45 yr shop assistant Daryl 40 yr Bus driver Chapter 1 " This looks like the turning babe ".said Daryl as he turned the car into the lane, leading to their holiday cottage. The lane had a broken hedgerow along one side with wild flowers. The other side was marked with a wooden fence, and cattle in the fields. The sounds of songbirds on this pleasant summers day put a pleasant smile on Shelia`s face. "This is heaven Daryl, whats the name of the cottage again " |

They raced to the bed , even though the voice had startled them ! They each took a corner of the bedstand and tried to move the knobs , they had been on there so long it was a difficult job to turn them ! Darly shouted , " this one is moving !! " He looked down the hollow tube , " Doesnt seem to be a key in here , but there is a piece of paper ! " He took hold of the paper , written were the words >>>>>>>>>>> |

"The key to your quest is on the crest.......but whos" They took off down to the gallery and looked at all the crests, for there were many as so many families had merged over the years. |

Sure enough there above one of the crests , was a just ordinary looking house key. " Found it love, lets get up stairs and open that door" said Sheila. They went back upstairs, to the bedroom on the right, Shelia put the key in lock, turned the key, and turned the door handle, and opened the door. |

To the loveliest little room decorated as a nursery, and it did indeed look as if it had been freshly done. "Wow " said Sheila....."have you ever seen anything so delightful" "No" said Daryl " and it sure doesnt give a clue as to who is often seen at the window by passing traffic" |

"Have you noticed the toys in here, there all early 1900`s `` said Shelia. "Look a Dolls House, with furniture of that era , lead soldiers, tin plate toys" Shelia added. "A room frozen in time, the children return, and visit as and when. " They locked the door and went downstairs. |

"Are you hungry" asked Sheila?..."I picked up some cold cuts and salad when we stopped for lunch......lets eat them out on the back porch" " Sounds good to me" said Daryl..." Apart from remaking the beds lets not bother with any cleaning and unpacking till the morning" |

 It was a glorious evening , and they enjoyedtheir salad , followed by strawberries and cream. " Shelia lets go and explore this garden, you just never know" said Daryl. " Garden its more like a park, field, lake theres even a small boat." |

And so they took of down through the fragrant Rose arbor, and began to explore the delightful old fashioned gardens, that led down to the lake. "Oh Daryl look, there are swans on the lake, dont they look so graceful, just glideing along.....oh I do love swans...theres something romantic about them...dont you think." said Sheila, Daryl had to smile for her voice held such delight at the scene before them. |

"Well they are beautiful"says Daryl"but you are my very special swan hun" "Oh Daryl,you are so sweet" says Sheila" That's one of the reasons I married you.anyway let's start back,it is getter a bit dark,and those forboding black clouds from the east there look pretty menacing" as she shivers involentarily. "Now in all the time I have know you Shiela I didnt know you believed in such rot" said Daryl scornfully. "ROT" said Sheila........." Its bad luck to disturb a fairy circle,...... everyone knows that" |

Sheila was feeling quite hurt by Daryls outburst and turned to him asking" Dont you believe in the fairy folk, Daryl....some how I always thought you and I to be on the same wave length", Which made Daryl feel quite sheepish, he would never hurt his sweet Sheila for anything, " well we are on most things darling, I guess the subject never came up before........ |

"You purchased those pot bellied pigs for a house pets" said Daryl. " Oh how insensitive can you be" said Shelia tearfully. " You`ve never liked Pinky and Perky from day one" "Shelia they are not even house trained, the cat litter tray is inadequate, and your insistance they sleep on the end of the bed is testing our relationship" Daryl replied arms stretched forward pleading for understanding. Lets just get on with the holiday by......... |

"By what" yelled Sheila, "At least Pinky and Perky are better behaved than that Daffy duck you got from your friend Paul, she nests in my hair at night after Im asleep and the other day laid an egg in there" Sheila was getting quite cross by now....... |

"Oh do lets stop fighting like a couple of 2 year olds".......said Daryl......"we came here for a break.......I will light the fire in the sitting room so we can relax before bed and you should make the bed up before we are too tired to bother" Sheila was still feeing a bit miffed but thought best to hold her tongue......... |
