The Way of the Warrior
From time to time we may feel uneasy and drained when we come in contact with others, therefore this circle will be on the Shamanic approach to metaphysical defence or astral defence.
As the spiral pathway is shamanic in nature, that means there are 4 paths we tread simultaneously in order to tread the one path. They are the Way of the healer, bard/visionary, mystic and warrior. It is to the way of the warrior we must look to for astral defence. How many of us believe that we are not to defend ourselves physically? I don’t, so why is spirituality any different? We are not here to be doormats. That attracts more trouble than is worth.
Historically the Celts were a warrior culture, they believed they must live a balanced life, including indoctrination into the bardic mysteries, herbcraft, clan and tribal lore, as well as druidal ogham runes and warrior training. The traits of the warrior was and still is responsibility, truth, self �?discipline and defence.
Responsibility is to one's self first, to be responsible for every word and action good or bad, without blaming another.
You must see the truth in every situation, it is no good hiding behind any excuses and however you wish them to be different. Facing truth is about acceptance, and if necessary making changes.
Self discipline is a lifelong process, this is required when viewing a problem with balance, stepping back and dealing without emotion, we tend to react out of emotion. A healthy dose of scepticism is helpful too, so we don’t fall for every 'sob' story that comes our way. Thats not to say that we shouldn't empathise, its about people being needy and draining us, we can help them better if we are shielded.
Defensively we sell ourselves short, rather than physically attack everything that comes our way, the warrior needs to construct and create a defensive astral armour, this will aid in protecting us from negative people and events, defensive magic is also useful in protecting yourself and others. Protection is important, when we are under attack, whether it is mentally, emotionally or spiritually, it is often useful to know that we are protected.
For example, to push someone away gently, Rub your hands together till they feel very warm and tingly, then widen your arms as if to embrace someone and slowly bring your hands back to create a ball of energy between your palms. Do this a few times until the ball feels strong, and tingly with energy. Alternatively you can make scooping motions until you have moulded a satisfactory ball of energy. Then turn your palms with the ball, until back of hands face your throat. While making a sharp and sudden 'bah' sound, thrust your arms forwards straight in front of you. Simply keep the other person's name or energy in mind as you do this magical pass. It won’t hurt them, but will effectively distract them.
How to Protect Yourself from Metaphysical Attack, Astral Attack and Psychic Attack
As for armour, I do this by creating a room sized egg, upside down, made of 3 feet of steel and stepping into it, spinning a submarine style lock, and hearing the door slamming shut and locking. It’s fast, effective and very strong. You can add cushions and whatever you like inside during your stay. It's good for emergencies which require quick shutdown. Usually though, asking for white light, healing and protection from your guides is good.
Sometimes there are occasions when you are under a very subtle form of attack. There are those that feed off another's energy, that victims don’t notice except maybe to feel uneasy, drained or even nauseous. Some people call them psychic vampires, although a lot of them don't realise they are doing it. When this happens, and you are aware of it, and the direction of 'attack', simply imagine the perpetrator caged in a cage made of golden light. This does no harm yet it cuts them off from you. The trick is in the intent, and the willingness to take responsibility for your actions, right or wrong.
Meditation
I will do a meditation to visit a warrior ancestor and ask for his strength and wisdom. He will be your warrior mentor.
I give thanks to the universe and the all for protecting us as we journey into the past and the upperworld.
Relax and breathe.
As you feel more and more comfortably
Be aware of the rhythm and go with the flow as you relax
Now find your sacred space
Your favourite place in your mind
There is a door in front of you
It leads to the spiral pathway
The path we take goes to the right and upwards
We notice our guides are with us
My ravens fly
My cougar prowls
We come to a wall of mist
It is a gentle blue coloured one
It is distilled healing energy, swirling
We walk into the mist
and see a blue light in front of us
We follow it
Walking through the blue mist
It leads out of the mist
and we see a rainbow bridge
We cross it
Marvelling at the construction, of solid light
At the other side we stop
There is a bell hanging
Ring it 3 times
and ask for an ancestor to step forwards
You see a shadow walk towards you from the distance
It may be a modern soldier, or an ancient warrior
They stop in front of you
and as you look you realise that it is yourself from
a past life
Ask the warrior for his wisdom
Take time to receive this wisdom
When you have finished
Thanks him
Turn and cross the bridge
When you get to the other side you stop
and see that the mist is green filled with love
Your guides walk with you into the mist
marvelling at the love that flows inside the mist
as you follow a green light back to the spiral pathway
You enter the path way, turning left and downwards,
until you reach the door to your sacred space
take a moment to slowly come to
Done
Wisdom will be given as and when you need it
The trick is to keep it simple
We complicate things to much with details, a human trait.
