Heaven's Own Hall Of Fame
Awards are given every day, to those who make the grade.
Whatever their field of endeavor, the trophies come their way.
Now, their rewards they hold up high, for all the world to see,
While press reports and magazines all tout their victory.
But worldly accolades tend to fade and recipients fear the day,
When someone waiting in the wings will steal their glory away.
They can't rest on their laurels and must continue the quest,
To reach an even higher rung on the ladder of success.
Then there are other people the world will never know,
The one's who spread seeds of joy everywhere they go.
Always attuned to other's needs they go out of their way,
To lift clouds of discouragement from someone's dreary day.
A smile, a touch, a listening ear are the hallmarks of their souls,
They're never unavailable when you need a hand to hold.
Their deeds elicit no honors and they're thought of as mundane,
By sophisticates who scoff at them for their lack of worldly gain.
But there is One who doesn't scoff and He watches from above,
These children of His who spend their lives giving unconditional love.
And when they leave this earthly realm, called to Him by name,
They'll receive an eternal trophy of gold in Heaven's Own Hall Of Fame.
