My youngest sister was living in Round Rock, Texas and through the
wonderful Internet, we got to see her baby right after it was born, although
we were here in North Carolina.
I made sure my mom was at my house with my daughter and I when the
picture came to us. Mom was sitting right beside me at the PC and my daughter
was standing behind her. When the picture opened we all cried and said "how
beautiful she was" and my daughter kissed my mom's cheek and said "at least I
got to see her, she's a little Angel".
As you all know, my daughter was killed in a car wreck. It happened just a few
weeks after my sisters child was born.
I gave my sister quite a few of the toys and things that my daughter had collected.
Marley loved books and I knew my sister would read these to her daughter as
I had to mine...
Not quite 2 years after my daughters death, my sister called me. I could tell by her
voice that something was up. She told me her daughter, Jaci, was playing in her room
and she went to check on her. When she did, Jaci had a toy in her hand and said "Here,
Marley, you play with this one". Over the last few years many incidents have occured
and my sister said that she thinks Marley is her imaginary friend.
Well, a couple weeks back... my sister picked her up at day care and she had drawn a picture
of 3 girls and told her about the picture. One girl had pink hair, one girl... she said was her,
the other was me. She told her mama that the girl with pink hair was Marley and that she
was always with her..(pink was Marleys favorite color)
I talked to my neice, playfully... and told her that I was Marley's mom. She said "I know,
she told me so"...
My family is a big one and several members of it have told me of "strange" things
happening and that they see Marley. Some have had close calls with health issues,
others have been in a bad way over personal issues...
My niece, has eyes just like my daughters... and is only 4 but has the mental aptitude
of a 2nd grader already...
To me, my niece... with her complete honesty that only the innocent child can have...,
sees my daughter, acknowledges her and knows her. Even though they never met.
So, of course... Jaci and I have a special bond! It's almost like she's a part of my child to remind me...
Thanks for the ear!
