While GB has more exotic things on her front porch, this is some of the latest findings at ours! Some of you might remember my cat WUK (used to stand for the World's Ugliest Kitten) Well she grew up, got really pretty, and we thought we got her fixed! Guess not! Anyway these little cuties are just about ready to find new homes. The little calico has one all ready !

Still working on getting ready for a motor home excrusion! Things are coming along, and wow it would be nice if it cooled down a bit before we take off.

Slowly but surely the basement is getting tiled. We have to work around a lot of stuff to get it done but its getting there.

The birdy gang is all doing well, and were still in nins and peedles waiting for the biopsy report on Izzy. So I'm going to ask the dumb question people have been asking me this last week or so. Is it HOT enough for you??? Nan

Been off the past  few days finishing my hokiday days for this year--they had to be taken by the end of July so I go back to work tommorrow-yuk lol. Been about 45 with the humidex here--thats celcieus--or something like that lol. Not been doing too much--even chaos the retriever doesnt want to go out much--too hot to stay out. We go for a walk real early in the morning and later at nite when it gets a bit cooler.Taking a few pics of him with his summer look--the wet one--try to post them soon. Had a scare with gizmo the senegal the other day. Came home from work and there was blood all over--he had broken a blood feather. My roommate cant handle him so she didnt know what to do. He had only just done it just before I came in . Cleaned him up and got everything back to normal for him--changed a few of his toys and stuff around in his cage so he woulnt bang on them etc . and hes been fine now. Anyway have some stuff to do so need to go now.

Goodbird, can you please point a big fan down in the direction of GA ?  Actually, just about anywhere in the country would appreciate your temps.  Lucky gal.

Hello from steaming Boston.

The kittens are adorable, and I hope you find wonderful homes for all of them.

The Princess and I are muddling through this weather with lots of showers and watermelon snacks. I try to keep her with me in the path of the fan breeze at night so that she can keep as cool as possible. As uncomfortable as this weather is, it's better than having to shovel anything.

With best regards,
Barbara, The Princess' Mother

I havent checked the temp yet but the Nan-o-Meter says its HOT ( I opened the door and stepped outside ) We had a couple of good days of rain, but it hasn't helped cool down around here.
My two oldest kids are here this weekend so we are going to cook out, play board games and watch movies.
I hope you all have a good weekend! Nan

I'm recuperating from "walking" pneumonia.  If I hadn't put off going to the doctor for so long, it would probably have passed by now.

I'm pleased with the progress that we've been making with my neurotic gray, Boo, during the past month.  Since my hubby (her true love) got involved, she has agreed to Step Up for both of us, come out of her cage, and play with him in the evenings.  Apparently, I was completely wrong in my assessment of everything about her, and wasted a couple of years because of it.  I'm terribly sorry that I had to "live and learn" at her expense but she seems so much happier now that I'm hoping she'll forgive me.

My wonderful gray, Gorgeous, is her usual, wonderful self.  And little Senegal, Sugar, is feeling moody at the present time.  Maybe she thinks she's missing out on something.

Plan to go back for a volunteer day at the charity thrift store today ~ finally ~ after a couple of weeks off.  Don't know how long I'll feel up to working but I'm beginning to get bored so it must be time to try to accomplish something useful.

I've been a bit disappointed by the lack of activity around Bird Brainz lately.  I always enjoy learning from the Q.s & A.s and the informational sites.  We must all be sitting in front of the fans instead of the computer these days!

Nanners, I love the picture of Wuk's kittens ... they are so pretty! I love the quilt they are on too! When and where are you taking off in your motorhome, Nanners? You need to keep a journal of your travels, so you can share pieces of it with us when you get back. Get back??? Dang, if you are travelling, you'll be offline! You should get a laptop and a wireless connection or something, so you can check in and tell us what you are up to!

GoodBird, when are you moving to Alabama? For some reason, I thought it was going to be before now!

Birdlady66, how could you stand it at 45 Celcius??? That must have been unbearable. Goord ... I die when it hits 30 here! Is it Ontario where you live? I'm sure glad you arrived home before poor Gizmo bled out ... that must have really been a scare!

I'm glad you are on the mend from your bout with pneumonia, Birdlady, and sorry to hear you've been ill. It really is wonderful the progress you are finally making with Boo.

Just because you are all enjoying the outdoors or vacation or whatever, doesn't mean you can't poke your beak in and say hi! Like Birdlady, I've really missed the usual action on the boards. Please stop in and let us know how you and yours are doing!

I'm on vacation now until the 17th, and my friend Carol from the Mainland will arrive tomorrow to spend some time with me. We'll be playing "tourist" right around here. I'm really looking forward to really exploring, as I haven't had very much opportunity to do that since I moved to Vancouver Island three years ago. In fact, I saw far more when I used to come over here for weekends than I do now!

Abby

It was 71 degrees today and it rained. Everything smelled so good. Tomorrow it's supposed to be warmer, but I'm still enjoying it since I'd rather have heat than cold anyday.
We are heading up to Omaha to have Izzy's follow up visit with our vet. Her ear looks so much better now. I need to some shopping too, and maybe hit the bookstore!
I plan to journal our travels with the birds. We might invest in cordless stero headphones too lol. I'm considering a laptop Abby so you've read my mind again!! Nan

Well today was a rough day for my family and I. We found out that the contractor didn't have an inspection before he put up the sheet rock, and now the inspector wants all the sheet rock torn down before he will pass the inspections for the house. But I went to Harrison State Park and got a picture of a deer and her 2 twin fawns. I can't wait to post it.I also got a picture of this huge wasp type bug, he must have been around and inch long including his stinger. I'm going to Rock City tomorrow ( I got a seasonal pass ) to try to get out of this hotel for awhile. I hope I get some good pictures again. I have learned to take your camera with you every where cause you never know what you will find. My brother got really sick, someone pooped in the hotel pool and know one told us that works at the hotel and my brother went swimmiing and he got really sick. He is doing better know. Another kid got sick also and had to go to the ER, thankfully Thomas didn't get assick as him. I can't believe the hotel didn't even close the pool or put up a sign at the poll gate. I thought this year would be better for me and my family. I guess it could get worst, but considering we have no home and we are 400 miles away from our family doesn't help.

After a month of no BirdBrainz - I finally found the link again!  Getting a new PC isn't what it's cracked up to be - it is taken me forever to find all my "hangouts".
Hope everyone is having a nice summer.  We've had much cooler temps lately then most places in the country so no complaints in the weather department.  Birds are doing fine, family is fine too.....everything is just fine in my neck of the woods!
*HUGS*
