yes I'm loosing mine . . . memory that is . . .my hair now that I think about it,  too .   . .I'm having a hard time finding the right memory for my computer . . . I need RDRAM PC1066 . . . I think Rimm 184 pin . . . how do I know how many pins?  Am I going to have to call Dell? . . . can't find it on the website . . . I'm finding not many places carry it & those that do, it is pretty spendy . . . I have 2 slots open, and want to add 512   MB . . . the 2 slots that are used, have 128 MB in them now . . . can the 512 be added to what's there already, bumping it up even more? or could I buy anaother 256 MB to get the 512?  My neighbor is going to be doing this, but I would kinda like to know something of what he's doing . . . I'm not totally computer illiterate but, mostly . . . on top of this I want to add a new graphics card . . . which I think we already talked about over when Dan was reformatting. . . I have a Dell 8250 - Pent. 4 - 2.4 Ghz - 533 MHz Front-Side Bus  - CPU 2386 Mhz  - Total memory capacity 2048MB     Is there some hidden place to buy memory or a graphics card cheap, that I'm missing?  Thanks, Magic Lizzy

Does any brand work as long as you get the right amount of pins?
Oh . . . what is this AGP and PCI when it comes to the graphics card?

Well, here goes as far as I'm able to explain things that I know.  Any generic brand of memory will work as long as it is the same type as called for in your Dell.  I am posting a link to a site that says it has the memory you need for your puter.

As for a graphics card, Dell computers are IBM compatible and you can use generic hardware in them.  FYI, I have 3 Dell computers and I do much of the work on the PC's myself.  If you have a local computer store in your area, they should be able to tell you what is the right product for your computer.  Make sure you tell them what you have when you ask for parts.

I hope this helps you some.  Hugs.  Harambee
