ACRONYMS are frequently made up of the first letter of each word in a phrase, such as, Laughing Out Loud (LOL). Lots of Acronyms are used by the people on the Message Boards and in the Chats. It saves the time it would normally take to type the entire phrase. Besides, most of us aren't that good at typing, or spelling for that matter!
