Hello, Jaime. Welcome to the family. It's always good to have another guy join in. There's a lot of women in the group, and they can gang up on us guys sometimes, so it's good to have some moral support. We have several Canadians in the group, so you won't feel lonesome. I'm glad you found us, though I'm sorry you had to have chronic pain to motivate you to do so. But that's what motivated everyone else, so don't feel bad. LOL I'm Dan, one of the managers here, which really doesn't mean much. There's not a lot to manage. We go by the golden rule here as our main rule, and it's been working for us for... gosh, I'm not sure how long. But a long time. Cyndy will know. LOL I should, since I started the site. LOL But dates are something I don't pay a lot of attention to. What's more important is that you're here with us now, and if you need help, or have questions, don't hesitate to ask. Over on the left is a lot of information on chronic pain, as well as links to other sites that deal with chronic pain. One thing I can tell you is that we refer to RSD as CRPS now. That stands for Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, and truly is a more descriptive name for the condition than Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which no one knew what that meant. Welcome again. Dan |

Hi, Jamie, and welcome to the family! : ) One of my best online friends, and a member here, is Harvey, who also has RSD; several other members have it, too, so you won't be the only one. It's a nasty disease, I know.I hope you have an understanding doctor who prescribes good pain medication to help you live a semblance of a normal life. Do you know what triggered your RSD? By the way, you should post on the General board so everyone can meet you; most of the members don't look here until AFTER someone posts there. : )

Hi Jamie and welcome to the group. I am going to post a proper welcome over on the main board, but wanted to say I read your bio and I am glad you decided to join us. I am so sorry you suffer so much with RSD. I can tell you are a good person, by you saying you are wanting to be of help to others. That is the kind of spirit that will get you through the bad times. Helping others can help you sometimes just as much, spiritually at least, and even physically, as feeling happy and useful does seem to lessen pain sometimes. |

Hi Jamie, I'm new to the group too. I've always wanted to visit Canada, the pictures I've seen of it are so beautiful. I love the out doors. I'm sorry to hear that you are in so much pain, you are so young to have that. I've been dealing with health problems and pain for over 30 years and it doesn't seem to get any easier at times but I'm a fighter and darned if I will give in to it. They have found a new drug, Lyrica, for the fibromyalgia and it seems to be helping a lot. I'll keep you in my prayers that you will be able to find some relief. Just don't give up, life is too precious a gift. Make the most out of it that you can. This group is great, it helps to talk to others who have been there. Everyone is very supportive. Lets all lean on each other. Lol gramanan |
