Well, I planted my seeds today, except for the sweet peas, I have then between some damp paper towels for a few days. I read on the web to do that, so I hope it works.
Needless to say, I have spent the night lying down, then signing on for a bit, then lying down. But what the heck, I'll have something to show for my stiffness!
I planted them all in outside window boxes, but it is temporary until they are big enough to plant in to ground. Simply because it is easier then bending, I will get someone to help me when they are actually ready for the ground, They are perennials so I won't have to bother with them much. I did drop a few  sunflower seeds(small size) in the ground, but also have some in the planter. I transplanted a small sage plant into a larger pot, and threw away some dead annual herbs. Cut back all of my roses even my climbing one as it seems to have mildrew. Pulled off dead sedum sticksm dead daisy stems and iris leaves, Shaped  (to very small size) my eunoymous's, as I transplanted them all last year and they were growing lopsided due to being in a cramped bed, Guess they won't really get big again til next summer, oh well, thats life.
Didn't see my bleeding heart out there, I moved it last fall, I hope I didn't kill it.

Hannah,
There is one more thing you can do to help your seeds start. Putting them in paper towels is good, but if you put them in large zip lock bags and try to put air in them, it will give it a green house affect and will help the paper towels stay damp. They are easy to move around that way and can be moved to tables by sunny winter windows.
This is a good way to start your sunflowers and works for most any seed. I have done it many times.
I have a pack of sweet peas that I am going to plant in the next few days. I haven't really decided where but I have an acre to plant on so I may just put a few here and there and see where they grow best. Don't ever plant morning glories. They never die and you can't get rid of them. I am still picking and pulling for five years. They about killed my peonies last year. Someone told me to spray them but I use no chemicals in my yard and am glad for it. I just guess I will pick and pull for ever. LOL
I hope that this cold weather and snow is over for the year, but May is not always snow free. Pray for warm weather.

Hi Hissy
I already have Morning Glories! They do come back, but I pull them up except for one area where I like them.
Thanks for the plastic  bag green house idea. So far only my alysium seeds and a few sweet peas are growing. (of the seeds I planted I mean)

Oh Dan, you have warm Texas weather, I bet it is great there!  It is green here today, the birds are all awake outside, and my lilac and crab tree and mock orange  are all in bud.  My roses and clemetis  & honeysuckle are sprouting green too.  Actually, a few things are now that I think of it.
But my  poor sweet peas!  Oh whoa! They  had little tender shoots coming up, then  we had to go and have freezing rain storm  2 nights ago.  I was outside trying to put the patio furniturre stacked up together  so it wouldn't  get damaged with the  winds and my hands were actually painful with the cold for.  I am a Canadian gal and no sissy!

But I don't know if my  sweet peas will make it,  but my foxgloves and lupins seeds are sprouting!
Yippidy do da!
