If you have a bunny as a pet, you can take the bunnie berries (poops) and place them straight on plants. They are great fertilizer. If you use newspaper under the cage, it will have urine soaked into it, but it, too can be used as fertilizer. It just needs to compost for a while, or be placed in a bucket with some bunnie berries and water to make a "tea." Let it sit for a couple of days. It will be fragrant, but effective.
Bird poops can burn plants if applied directly. Always compost papers with bird poops if you keep avian pets.
Waste from cats, dogs, ferrets, etceteras, should not be used as fertilizer.
