The cruise was AWESOME!!  The weather was a bit chilly, but we figured it was going to be....since we were headed towards Canada and Newfoundland...lol.  We did have beautiful weather though....not one drop of rain during the day....but had some during the night; but it was a bit windy...especially on the cliff areas...and there were lots of those!

Quebec was beautiful....it really changed since I've been there; but that's a VERY long time ago...lol.  Progress!!  We went to St. Anne de Beaupre, which is gorgeous....and it has been built up so much since I was there in the 60's with my family.  Architecture was beautiful!!  The falls were gorgeous, too.....Ed walked all the way up to the top of the falls.....he said it was beautiful from there.

Charlottetown and Sydney, Nova Scotia were beautiful....and Prince Edward Island was the most gorgeous place I've ever seen!  It is SO serene, quiet, clean, etc., etc.  The hills and valleys that you see are breath taking....there are 32 golf courses on the island, too....Ed loved that part.....lol.  It would be a lovely place to retire to....lots of people from Canada and the USA do retire there.  It's fairly cheap to live there....and the health care is amazing.  Don't know why we can't have that here in the USA!!!!

We went to a preserve company....yes, where they make jellies, jams, honey, tea, etc.  The guy that owns it started it 21 years ago.  He greets every single bus that comes in personally (in his kilt!) and says 'good bye' to every bus.  They have jellies, etc. out for you to taste; and we bought the Raspberry with Champagne and Strawberry with Grand Marnier...absolutely delicious!!!  I've never tasted anything so yummy!  Bruce (the owner) is raising money to build a respite for terminally ill people and their caretakers, from all over the world, to come stay there, free of charge.  The site where they are going to break ground in the fall is beautiful....it's on top of a hill, overlooking a lake, small church across the lake, beautiful gardens, and SO quiet, too.  There are just gorgeous shades of green grass...and, of course the trees were in their glorious colors of orange, yellow, brown, etc.  It should be a lovely spot for anyone to stay, that's for sure!

We really enjoyed spending time with Paul & Helga again.  It's so nice to do it though....since we live so far apart we don't get to see one another that often.  They are spending a few days in Atlantic City now, before they go back to Colorado.  But they're anxious to get back home....they also spent a few days in NYC before the cruise.

It's good to be back home though....although the ship was quite comfortable, even the bed...lol.  I did miss my 'adjustable' bed though..lol.  Of course, I had to do the laundry as soon as we unpacked...and put all the other stuff away.  And I took too much, as usual.

We were a bit late in leaving NYC since the ship had to be decomtaminated since there was an intestinal bug on the ship.  Quite a few people got sick...so they had to spray everything down.  They were extremely cautiousd on how they handled everything on the cruise.  You could not take any food from the buffet....the crew did, with plastic gloves and tongs...including the Sweet 'n Low, salt & pepper, etc.  Of course you had to clean your hands before and after dinner with a disinfectant....the stands with it were all over the ship.  The doors to the rest rooms were left open...so no one had to touch the handles; but they did have to touch the handle on the stalls....can't figure that out....lol.  I know this happens from time to time...but they need to find out who is sick and get them treated and get rid of it once and for all.   Some people were confined to their rooms for 24 hours by the ship doctor, if they were sick.  People also got sick on our cruise...one person had to be airlifted from Sydney to the local hospital for treatment from intestinal virus.

Hope you all had low pain days while I was gone....and hope you didn't miss me too much.....lol.  It's great to go away....but it's great to be home again!!!
Hugz,
Dee

Welcome home world traveler!  The trip sounds fantastic.  Wish I could have been your stow-away.  I'd love to see that part of the world.  Sounds lovely from your description.  I'll likely never see it though.  :(   I'm glad you go to.  My life's dream was to go on a cruise and I did get to do that once so I guess that's it.  The only reason I did that was because I won it off the radio.  Otherwise, it probably never would have happened.  I can't talk my husband into going on one for nothing.

We're glad you're back.  Hope it doesn't take you too long to recuperate from all the action.

Welcome back Dee!
I am so glad you enjoyed your vacation. The food on the east coast is fantastic, just like the people.
