I have been exercising some trotters on the track and have enjoyed it, but today I got to jog my first pacer! Oh what a wonderful ride and wonderful horse she was too. Shelaylay is just a pretty dark bay mare and what a mover! She is light in mouth and that means she steers easy. The pacers are nicer too, there isn't the bounce in the cart like with the trotters. I was just loving that mare and the ride despite the mud in my face affair that goes with it!
Oh, lol, I should say that I had a door open for me to help exercise and take care of some race horses! I am learning a lot and am in pig heaven so to say. LOL, you all know how I am about horses. But I am enjoying and there is much to learn and a lot of it helps me with my horses. I am learning a lot about shots and how to handle strains and injuries too. It's exilerating and cold out on the track right now. LOL, figures I wouldn't get into it during the warm weather.
Anyways, I now have three horses I can jog everyday if I want. Two trotters and a pacer. All three are racers and one does quite well. She won 100 grand last year they tell me and they expect next year for her to do better. I have to put it out of my mind what the horses are worth or I won't get behind them. I am afraid of one getting hurt or doing something to set it back. But they tell me I am fine and am handling them well.
The part I enjoy most though is after the work out. That's when I get to spend some times washing them down and do a bit of grooming and play. It's a quiet time and more the kind of thing I enjoy. It's the part that I am trying to work into doing all the time. I would love to work into where I accompany horses to the track, get them ready, and then take them back after the race. There is good money in doing that and the work is rather easy. It's a thing where I am going to have to prove my salt.
Anyways, I am trying to find my battery charger for my camera so I can get you some pictures. LOL, some of the horses are racing where you can see the races on TV too. I should find out what channel and post it. I still do the cows when I get a chance. LOL, life is sure changing for the old Hissycat! Love and hugs to you all!
