Thanks so much to all of you!! The surgery went well and Tom came home two hours later. He slept most of the day and was up and around by late afternoon. He listened to the doctors orders, read them again when he got home and then the crazy old coot got up the morning after surgery, got dressed and drove himself over to the mall where he goes to walk every morning. That was a very big NO NO!! no driving for at least a week. Its a good thing I love the old coot or I would have given him a one two punch to the tummy. [not really, after he got home in one piece i cooled down a little and made him some of his favorite supper] What you gonna do, we've been together for 47 years. Anyway thanks again, your prayers and good thoughts were sure appreciated. I'm green with envy over some of your graphics ! Hope you all have a good pain day. Take care. lots of love gramanan |

Glad to hear everything went well for him! The first thing I did when I got home after my surgeries was take a shower! |

Gotta love 'em!!! MEN....they only hear what they want to hear!! Hide his car keys until next week, maybe that will make him realize there is a reason WHY the doctor said 'no driving for a week'. Glad all went well with the surgery....and hope Tom listens to what the doctor said from now on....lol. Dee Sorry I could not post a 'picture' for you, but MSN is not cooperating at all today!!! |

Oh, can I relate to your "old coot" doing something that's a no no. When I had my daughter (many years ago) I had a C section. I wasn't supposed to drive either. But hay, I had a newborn and no one home and I needed a few things from the grocers. So, off I went. I'm glad Tom is better and I hope the surgery was a conplete success. Hugs, Claire |

YES, DAN, it was an authorized shower LOL. I was told I could take a shower as long as the incisions stayed clean and dry...which they did with a wonderful invention called tegaderm. It's a waterproof clear plastic dressing, for those who are unfamiliar. It's the same stuff they tack over an IV site to keep it in place. Now after my hip surgery, I was told no driving....for like 6 weeks. I did really well with it at the beginning 4 weeks. I didn't drive at all....but then school started. I tried carpooling with my classmates, which worked really well for just to school and back, but didn't help me get to my doctor and physical therapy follow-up appointments! My left hip works just fine for driving, thank-you very much! LOL |
