Cyndy and Dan, you two each have those little vacums that zoom around the floor by themselves right?
What are they called again? We want to get one.

They're called ROOMBA, Hannah. They work pretty well, actually, and they're wildly entertaining for grandchildren. LOL Only thing you have to watch for is that they don't get stuck under low-slung furniture. Mine does under the sofa; there must be something hanging down from underneath it or something that it gets caught on. One of these days I'll figure out how to block that off. : ) Otherwise I love it.

Know they're on the expensive side, Hannah...around $300.  But, guess if they work, it's a good thing.  I know vacuuming is the one thing I cannot do with my back....or the rest of me...lol.

Good luck!
Dee

I got mine (and one for my daughter) at www.woot.com for about $150 Dee, and $5 shipping. They sell them fairly frequently there. Tuesdays are the best time to get them as that's usually when they are getting rid of a lot of things rather than one item per night. But I'm not sure if they ship to Canada anymore; they used to, but they may have discontinued that. You'd have to check their web site.

I have a housekeeper.  She costs me $40 a week, and she's worth every penny.  She dusts, she cleans, she straitens, she vacuums, she washes clothes and changes my bed out and  cleans out the kitty litter and washes the floors and just does whatever needs doing.    I think of it as a $200 a month vacuum cleaner payment.  LOL

Lots of love and healing hugs,

Dan

How odd, I must of clicked cancel rather than send, as I did post again in this thread.
Thanks for telling me about woot.com, what an awesome site. I also found a site called RedFlagDeals.com linked off of it and joined that, is is a Canadian one. I e-mailed woot to see if they deliver to Canada.
My husband saw woots daily steal, before it was changed, and it was a tankless water heater for 2 hundred and something. He was all "What a deal, and those are the way to go..", then explained about them(yawn) Lol.
I did see a roomba on redflagdeals in my area for 260 something, which is about a hundred less than what I saw last night at the same store. Strange!
Anyways, thanks again!

$40 to clean is cheap, Dan!  You're lucky to get someone like that; and she does an awful lot for that money....I know I pay my cleaning lady $70....which is still on the low side for these areas.  She's awesome though....she treats my house like it's hers....which is good...except she puts things away where SHE wants them...lol.  But my house is easy to clean, too....we don't have a lot of clutter at all.  But I only have  her come in every two weeks.

Hope you get your Roomba, Hannah!!

Bah.  You two.  LOL  Get a grip.

I know she's cheap, Cyndy.  But she's been doing this for me since I got back from the Northeast in the early 90s.  When I try to give her a raise she won't take it.  She says what I'm paying her is adequate.

I do some special things for her.  If she's sick or her MIL is sick or her kids, then I pay her for that week any way.  She doesn't abuse that.  It happens about 2 or 3 times a year.  I also give her a nice little bonus check at Chrismas, which she promptly turns right around and spends half of on me for a Christmas present.  I can't get her to stop that either.

But yes, I've got a great helper.  She comes on Wednesday, and I usually leave and when I come back, every thing is straightened up, floors are washed, bed is made and sheets are washed and laundry is done and on and on and on.  I call it "The miracle of Wednesday".

Hugs and lots of love,

Dan
