Well you sure got lucky on that one my boy! Sounds like you got by with the skin of your teeth, but they might have a bit of road rash! It's good they gave you something for pain, but even morphine fails to give me that nice calm buzz or relaxed feeling everyone enjoys hahahaha! It does kill my pain, but I have yet to be high off of any pain meds. I just get rid of the pain and have to much energy to sit.
I can share a close call with you that happened last week though. It might not make you laugh, but it will raise your eyebrows!!! I was getting ready to put away a nice horse where I work, one of the better race horses and I was trying to square her up before I took her thru the door of the stall. By squaring up, I mean lining her up to go thru the entrance so she wouldn't bump her body against the sides of the doorway. Well she was a bit hesitant and stopped so I was just talking quiet too her because you don't want them spooking and running you down, that's how a soul gets hurt hahahaha!
Well one of the bigger baggarts who's ego is way to big for me to like him was standing there and he did something really stupid! I mean killer stupid! Instead of staying quiet, the boy reached over and popped that horse on the butt and hollers at her! Well that horse exploded and I was lifted clean off the floor and me and that old horse went inside of a 10 by 10 foot wooden sides and there is not climbing out the sides of it! But I was fortunate enough I was able to push off the horse's neck and ended up against the side of the stall wall with a huge thud. It hurt, but lol, not near like what you got hurt, I was just sore for a couple of days.
It cut the mare on the hip though because she hit her hip on the stall door when she went exploding thru. Well the boy knew he messed up and he was backing way down the aisle when I came out of that stall ready to pound his head! I told him he was stupid and lucky he didn't kill me or hurt the horse more! I kept my feet moving too because if I had of stopped, I would have beat the boy bloody right then and there! Lord knows I was hot, really hot!
But it must have been a sight, they said I flew and they heard me hit! But I don't think there was one man standing there and there were five of them at least that knew what to say to this girl when I came out of that stall! I was out for blood, and I could have stuck a pig and bled it out and served it up on the spot I was so mad! I think I scared the heck out of them all!!
Well I won't say what I told my boss was Christian either when he met me in front of the barn either. My old mouth was saying stuff that I don't think a man ever heard come out of a woman's mouth! But I was hot and I don't get mad like that very often. But I kept telling that boy he was doing to much bragging and not paying enough attention and was going to get someone hurt and he did, me! That was a bad mistake, real bad! LOL, he still keeps a lot of space between him and me! I haven't made up my mind yet if he has a lesson coming or not, but he may eat the wheel barrow of horse doody for breakfast one day! I figure I will take my time before I get my revenge, gotta make it look like an accident like he tried to make it look like.
But lol, those older men sure gave him hell all day too. The boy had to bite it off with the boss too cause that's one of our winning horses he hurt! But today the boy started telling me again how much he knows so I am gonna stay in any barn he isn't in to say the least! This boy wants to be a big time trainer and he ain't got the sense of a cow's butt when it skitters! Skitters are what they call it when cow has dirreah lol! Well the boy might have skitters for brains! Nah, skitters got more sense than that hahahaha!
So just be careful my friend, you just don't know what dangers lay behind and around doors. Be it a door to a room or building or a door to a stall, always keep your eyes open and your smarts on! It's the one thing that will save your life and keep you from getting hurt worse! Hope your pain gets better.
I didn't bother going to see the doc, I have enough pain meds as it is. I think I have hurt for so long that a little more pain doesn't bother me too much anymore. LOL, I might be a little thick between the ears too. Yep, I think everyone here will agree with that one!
