Hi All,

I guess it's about time to post my bio.  Well, my name is Swati (it means Star). I'm a 21 year old college student from central New Jersey (USA) studying Business although my passion is truly writing.

I have been suffering from chronic pain for 3 years now.  The doctors are temporarily labeling it Fibromyalgia but I am still undergoing testing.  My pain is mostly in the neck and upper back but spreads to my left arm, lower back, both elbows, hands, knees, and ankles when I'm in severe pain.  I'm bed ridden without medication.  I also suffer from hypothyroidism so I'm currently on Synthroid, Percocet, Duragesic, Xanax, and Zanaflex.  Secondary to my pain are insomnia (I sleep on average every three days), heartburn/indigestion, inability to eat, anxiety, headaches, nausea and vomiting, confusion, forgetfulness, slurring, inability to think properly, and faulty depth perception. I may have forgotten some.

In the past three years besides my GP I have also seen two Neurologists, a Rheumatologist, a Pain Management Specialist, Physical Therapist, Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Psychiatrist, Psychologist, and I think that's it.  Other medications I've been on in the past for primary or secondary symptoms of pain include Oxycontin, Advair, Nasacort, Albuterol, Lunesta, Ambien, Rozerem, Flexeril, Trazadone, Elavil, Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Effexor, Zoloft, Nexium, and I can't really think of what else right now.  Oh yeah, and I've also gotten trigger point injections.

Well now that you know my medical history, here's a little bit about me.  I'm not your typical girl who loves to shop and blah blah blah.  I have Middle Child Syndrome and am therefore very independent.  I absolutely love reading books although I haven't been able to focus lately.  I love writing poems and stories, but, same problem.  I like playing my flute and love experiencing new things.  I abs. love New York City and try to go in as often as possible.  I know I'm overusing the word "love" but I also love to dance and go to clubs, which has also been hard to do with the pain.  I have an older sister who I'm not so close to and a younger brother who I AM close to.  I'm daddy's little girl although my mom has been trying to form a relationship with me ever since my sister got married two years ago.

Okay I've already written too much but if you're still crazy enough to want to get to know me after all of that you can email me at [email protected].  Take care!!

- Swati

Oops I forgot I also have Carpal Tunnel.  I'm a MESS.  Oh yeah and I was diagnosed with Major Depression at some point too.  And I might be on the road to high blood pressure and high sugar.  Oh, and I'm a temp. Fibro patient because they think it might actually be Stiff Person Syndrome.  I just gotta get the follow-up blood work done to confirm or deny it.

Mucho Love,
Swati

P.S. That reminds me I also have the most awesome and supportive boyfriend.  His name is Juan and I will post pics of us soon.  He will be 25 on Apr. 22.  He is on the Board of Trustees at my college.  How hot is that????  He is also a Frat boy and I'm a Sorority girl.  :)  That's not how we met though.  He's one of 7 children.  How crazy?  And he works for J&J.  Awesome for me.  Discounted products for a crazy sick person.  Yayy.  It's been two years and hopefully there will be more.  I love him!!  :-D

Hi Swati!

My oh my are you doing alot of pain meds! The drs. fail to tell their patients many times that pain relievers that specifically contain acetaminophen, harm the liver, and we cannot live without our liver. Please go to google or yahoo and type in the word acetaminophen side affects, then type in NAC! Nac is a supplement that neutralizes the side affects of acetaminophen, which are found in many pain relief medicines, esp. percocet, vicodin, tylonel, alieve, advil, naproxen, and ibuprofen.

Best wishes to you,

Raymond.
