I am 35 years young, lol. I went off a 500 ft. cliff in my car when I was 21 and from just a sprained wrist it turned into rsd and spread very quickly. I was being sent from specialist to specialist and being told it was all in my head even though I ran a high fever 24 hours a day and dr.'s saw this and I had a ton of blood work coming back abnormal so much so that I had to have a bone marrow biopsy. Many tests would come back with a slight abnormality so they would say it's nothing even though many tests were showing up like this. I went through a horrific nightmare for 3 years of crying and screaming in pain and many ambulance trips to the er and no pain meds for 3 years except for a shoprt time I was given vicaden but then stopped because my rheumatologist was being investigated by the police so he stopped giving any narcotics and I was on nothing else. During this time I was also diagnosed with hashimoto's disease and they have known all along something else is wrong but they haven't been able to figure it out so they just say now that I also have a degenerative neurological condition. After 3 years of a living nightmare I was diagnosed of rsd and given stellate ganglion nerve blocks which only helped for a few hours but ended up making things worse and they had me in physical therapy but it got to the point I couldn't get out of bed and then the pain clinic wouldn't do anything for me not even another stellate ganglion block so we my mom and I called the rsd association and were told there was a dr. who treats rsd in North Dakota so my mom sold her house and we moved here in 1998 and they tried me on all the different narcotics and other meds but nothing helped at this point and at this point I have fullbody rsd and they decided to give me the intrathecal morphine pump and when I woke up I was able to move my right arm and hand which was atrophied and this pump has been a huge blessing in my life as I am at least able to sit up at my computer now and go on short outings instead of being bed ridden. I am in an electric wheelchair partly due to rsd but also partly due to a degenerative neurological condition and also due to another type of neuropathy in my legs. I have a wonderful mother who I live with and she takes care of me and we have respite workers that come in to give her a break. I also have fibromyalgia, osteopenia, arthritis, degenerative neurological condition, raynaud's, hashimoto's disease, hypopituitarism, some type of neuropathy in my legs also besides the rsd. This is my story in short version, lol. (((gentle hugs))), Karly

Hi Kathy:

How many people can survive after going over a cliff? I am so glad you survived!

Having someone in our life who is supportive is a priceless feeling inside us. I am happy you have someone.

Best wishes,

Raymond.
