My name is Debbie.  I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and DDD about 10 years ago, was in two bad auto accidents, one in 92 and one in 94 in which several cervical and lumbar discs were herniated and two thoracic vertebrea had compression fractures.  Since I have developed severe osteoarthritis in hips and knees and now have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.  I have worked for 25 years in Radiology, have taught, managed, but mostly worked in ORs.
I am a single parent with a 10 year old son and have tried to stay as active as possible but as of December, I lost my job due to health reasons and now am faced with the fact that I can not physically do the job I have always done and have applied for disability, hopefully it goes through the first time.

Hi Deb:

If you are turned down go and get a SSA or SSI Attorney. Look in the yellow pages under attorneys. They usually have a half to a full page ad. Most only get 25% as a fee, when you get your disability. Do NOT give up! Fight for it! One of my disabilities is osteoarthritus.

I wish you the best.

Raymond.

Thanks.  I do have an attorney but they are through my long term at the Hospital where I worked.  I am not sure they are helping much.  I am just keeping my fingers and everything else crossed.

Never ever give up Deb! You are not alone! Remember that always! If you wish to get a social security disability attorney you have nothing to lose and a huge chance of winning. Don't take no for an answer!

Best wishes, Raymond.

I wear two elastic back supports from Wal-Mart and they are miracle pain relievers for me. I even wrote the mfgr.

I have osteoarthritus, Lumbar disc protrusion, L-5 Compression fracture and T6-7 compression fracture.
