Hi! My name is Kimmy. I am 45 years old, live in Kansas and work full time. I am married with kids and grandkids and lots of critters who I love like I love my human kids. I am currently taking Tramadol for pain. Doesn't do much. Since I've had this severe neck pain the doc put me on some Lortabs also, but they don't help. Thats the problem, nothing helps. I also have fibromyalgia, so I'm used to pain, but this bulging disc/muscle spasms in the neck and tightness in neck and shoulders are about to do me in. Glad to meet you, and am looking forward to getting to know you all! Thanks for having me!
Kimmy

Hi Kimmy my name is Anne-marie and I'll be 45 in December.  I have 3 boys 2 of my own and 1 step son.  16, 15, and 12.  I started late in life and it's hell keeping up with them now since I'm always in so much pain.  Wouldn't give them up for anything just with they would slow down for awhile.  Can you ask your doc for something stronger, it's sounds like you need something better.  Will you be having surgery for your bulging disc?  Glad to meet you - you will love it here!  xoxoxo Anne-marie

Hi Kimmy,
I am brand new here and just wanted to tell you I have suffered with:
First - Disk disease in lower back - about 5 years
Second - Disk disease in neck/shoulder
Third - Carpal Tunnel
Just wanted to let you know after about 5 visits to acupuncture school my neck pain and carpal tunnel is gone.
Couldn't believe it. Now we are working on lower back!

Well, Kimmy.  Welcome to the family.  I'm Dan, one of the managers here.  The others will be by to welcome you shortly I'm sure.

Your problem is those drugs aren't getting you ahead of the pain curve, Kimmy.  On top of your FMS, the extra pain you're experiencing just isn't being impacted by that level of pain medication.  You need stronger pain medicine and more of it.

I would say to try to find a pain clinic and get a referal there.  Meanwhile start to keep a pain journal or diary.  Every day write down what your pain was on a scale of one to ten.  There's a sample pain Chart over on the left there you can use as starter.  Make each level relate to you though.  That's mine and it relates to my own experience.  A level one is no pain at all, and level ten is the worst pain you've ever had.

Take that informaion with you when you go to the doctor.  I like to keep mine in a spreadsheet and make a graph out of it to take to her before I go.  There's a picture of that too over there.

Welcome again.  Let us know if you have any questions.

Healing hugs and lots of love,

Dan
