I just wanted to say hello to everyone! I have been reading some of the information here for little over a week, but forgot to let you guys know I am here. I am 45, married, two cats and struggling with being a fulltime patient. My life seems to get limited more and more physically as the days pass, so I devote a lot of time to researching online, and hanging out with great friends. I am an admin and a moderator on two different cat care sites. I did help moderate a hysterectomy board for a year but needed to take a break.

I am once again farming with several specialists to find out exactly what is causing my pain, brain fog, memory lapses and so on. The only dx on paper so far is Hashimoto's, which to some physicians may cause a heap of problems and to others, only your thyroid is affected. I had a microdiscectomy on L5/S1 and a discectomy on L4/L5, along with decompression in August. I have yet to be released by the surgeon from surgery and after my third MRI on Tuesday, we, my husband and I are baffled to the cause of my pain. The surgeon is now sending me for a NCS on 12/12 and is saying my problem is either osteoarthritis or perheral neuropathy/fibromyalgia

I look forward to meeting everyone and hope I can contribute to the group!

Hugs,
Maryan

Hello Maryan,
I am sorry to hear of your problems!  It does sound like fibro to me, but I am NOT a Dr....so never go on the words of anyone else...just have to wait until your Dr can tell you more!
I am sure you will like this group.  I know I do and trust me, I am hard to please!  LOL  Everyone here is very honest and kind.  Cyndy and Dan run things well here.
Welcome and I do hope you feel better!
Love
Angel

thanks for the welcoming Angel! I know life will get better as long as I stay in "refusal" mode! lol - (some are in denial, but I am in refusal).

Hugs,
Maryan

Maryan, it's a miracle I saw your post here; I was looking for something else.  Welcome to the group!  You need to post on the "General" board for people to see your post and reply to you; this particular board is for people to post a bio so we can check out those we have met on the General board.  : )  It gets confusing, I know.  Sorry about that!  So what happened on the 12th??  Any further news? I hope you've had some lessening of your pain.  As a person who has peripheral neuropathy in both hands and feet and lower legs myself, I can sympathize with anyone who has it.  No fun at all!  I also have OA, so I can relate on that front, too.  I hope to see you posting more on the General board so everyone can get to know you better.
Cyndy, co-manager

Hi Cyndy, My daughter is 35 years old and has peripheral neuropathy in both her hans and feet also. I am going to call her doctor and tell him what a stupid thing she does when her feet are burning and she can't stand the pain she goes outside and stands in the snow. Can you believe that!!!!!  I told her many times over that she is going to get frost bite but she won't listen to me. At the risk of her being angry with me I just want to pick up the phone and say Hey Dr., Wada wada wada this is what she is doing to treat it ask her about it just don't mention my name or it will start world war 3. Hugs LittleAngel
