Hi my name is kendra im 20 and waiting to have a my left hip replaced. I have ostenecrosis, Im not on any pain meds cause the doctors all said that they didnt want me to get addicted to it, as for tylenol, advil, and all that stuff, they dont work one bit so i dont take anything, the doctors said that theres not much pain managment i can do because the disease has progress so much and eat so much bone that now i really just need to get it fix. I was seeing this doctor for 5 years and he kept saying that he will do the surgery, so I went to him a month ago thinking that i was going to get my x rays and scedule the surgery, WOW was i was off  turns out he dosnt even do the surgery and now i have to find  new doctor. so i have a appointment with this new guy in a week and hopefully I like him enough so i can get my surgery. if you want to ask me any questions fill free.

Hi Kendra, welcome to the site.
I am sorry you are having to deal with ostenecrosis and a hip replacement at your young age.  I wondered if you ever tried using crutches instead of a cane? It may help you get around better to lift weight off your hips?
I hope you like your new doctor and get your surgury soon.
Hang in there!
Hannah

Yes i have tried them I was on them for 10 months and 10 days, it really didnt make a diffrence it just made me really tired but a this other doctor actually wanted me to try a walking stick, wich  kind of sounds  intresting, so I might give that a try. But thanks for the suggestion.
