Hi I am Dale and don't let my name fool you I am female....Chronic pain really began with me when I was at work at Pizza Hut...I was Assitant Manager Training to be Manager of the Carry-out delivery store in Portland Oregon...I was carring 4 large pan pizza pans with frozen dough in them and I was putting them up on top of the oven to do a rush on getting the dough to thaw and fat least fill the pan it could rise in the oven while baking the pizza...anyways I twisted at the same time of lifting them and that was all it took I sprained my entire spine severally....I was out of work for 6 months and on workmans comp....I saw a chiropractor and a doctor instead of getting better I just started getting worse walking became very painful difficult any movement my spine did just shot through my spine with electrical shocks of pain and a sawing into my spinalcord feeling......the pain then took over my muscles and joints and stole any strength I had the fatigue depression chronic pain was driving me insane....I wanted to just die....I couldn't sleep think or just plain function.....they did MRI's on my lumbar area and my neck I have a buldge disk at c-4 &c-5 and degenrative disk in my spine which is sever in my neck and lower back and I have sciatic(pyscotic) nerve....on top of that it triggered what they call post tramatic fibromyalgia.....from the injury on is when it all began for me this world of chronic pain....I can no longer work and am on SSI & SSDI.....I am now 51 and have 2 beautiful daughters and 4 Grandchildren 3 boys and 1 girl.....I have been a chronic painer for 6 years now and must say it is this site that has taught me to be proactive with my health care....after finding this life saving site I got my answers to why I was in pain and what I needed to do to controll it.....I never thought I'd be able to make the transition from a normal to a chronic painer but there is life after you learn how to controll the pain.......Dale
