From: MSN NicknamePrimary_Immunodeficiency  (Original Message)Sent: 6/1/2007 9:15 PM
I was born premature weighing only 3 lbs.  I spent the first several months of my life in Children's Hospital Nic U.   My condition did not have a name back then, but I believe I was born with it.

My life consists of illnesses and infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, pleuracy, collapsed lungs, liver problems, and kidney failure, several surgeries, numerous hospitalizations, and many, many visits to the ER.  I catch every cold/flu/virus I come in contact with, and I take a very long time to recover.

I also struggle with chronic pain from Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis,TMJ, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Raynaud's Syndrome.  I suffer from chronic migraines as well, and have an incurable case of insomnia.  I also have Obstructed Sleep Apnea which is treated by wearing a CPAP machine everytime I sleep.

I will be receiving Ig treatments beginning in July for my PIDD (Primary Immunodeficiency).  My problem is, I do not make enough antibodies and I have no defense against any virus or infection.  The smallest cut or scratch on my body gets infected and needs extra care.

I often wonder what my life "could" have been like had I been diagnosed sooner.  I feel some anger knowing the quality of life could have been much better.  However, I am grateful to finally know what is making me so sick, and I am anxious to begin treatment.
