Ok i forgot this board was here and i put the movie on the general board lol  oh well.

 

Whale rider is of course a NZ made movie and a must see. Its about a young girl born into a maori family, her mother and twin brother die during the birth or just after the birth, her father basically leaves her with her grandparents while he goes off in search of his career.  Her grandfather ignores her from birth becos he wanted a grandson to carry on the ways of the maori people and become a chief of the tribe etc.  Paikea the granddaughter endeavors to learn the things to become a chief herself.  gosh i hope i didnt leave anything out now, oh well cyndy will be able to tell lol
