Harvey before I go on to say the following, firstly I will say that I totally had respect for the way you took care of Lorna in her dieing process. That was truly a good humane thing to do. However, I am now very disappointed in the way you speak of the dead. Lorna is still warm in her grave, and no matter what your relationship was with her, she did bear you children. Children with whom you share love and respect. For the sake and respect of those children you should let go of the illfeelings you still have towards Lorna, (afterall she was their mother)and not call her a Witch all over the net. As a Witch I know to have respect for the dead, because they could come back to bite you on the perverbial bum, such as Harvery the ring being stolen. I think Hannah is right, you should take things a little slower. I'm a Witch, and in being so negative in the way you use the word, disrespects me. I would not use the Pope's standing in such a nasty way, please do not use the word Witch in such a light. Thank you Maggie | First Previous 2-12 of 12 Next Last Delete Replies | Reply
| | I'm sure Harvey didn't mean any disrespect to witches, Maggie; he probably meant to say "bitch", which would have been a lot more accurate in describing his late wife. Bearing him children was about the ONLY good thing she ever did for him.

| | It may be true that bearing Harvey children was the only good thing Lorna did. But as we all know 'there is always two sides to a story.' Besides he once loved her enough to have children with her. Harvey meant Witch, because he sees Lorna as Evil, and sub-consciously maybe, sees Witches as evil. Not so. Lorna was lost, not evil. Anyway she sees things more clearly now! Maggie | | | Reply
| | Maggie, no disrespect towards witches, such as you, was intended. Sorry. To those of us who are not witches, or practicers of such faiths, the term "witch" has a different connotation. I wish I could give you chapter and verse on some of the things I put up with just to be with my children. It would turn your stomach. Lorna caught me on the rebound (that was my fault) and I only stayed because of the kids. I had planned to leave her the day after the youngest left the house. Even my children knew that their mother treated me as little more than a meal ticket (and that was on a good day). The only good thing I can say about her is that she was a good mother to the children. Again, Maggie, I'm sorry for upsetting you because no disrespect was intended towards any religious faith. | | Hmmm, need to clarify something. Had it not been for the cancer, I would have left Lorna once the youngest left the house. Harvey | | Reply

| | May I share a little something here? The way that the word "witch" is using is in the slang. Maggie please do not take it that anyone here is trying to disrespect you. In the "slang" version, the word witch really doesn't refer to the religious practice. It just simply meant to describe someone who has less than moral intentions towards others. Sadly as I read thru this string, I too had to remember someone who was and is known as a "witch". Sadly too, it is my grandmother. It's really sad that not one of us grandkids can remember anything but her intentionally spending her whole life belittling my grandfather in front of us and everybody they knew. She used to follow him from room to room telling him how stupid he was. If constant belittling wasn't enough, she had two affairs and had two children from those affairs. My grandfather being the man he was, gave those boys his name and raised them as his own. I can't ever remember him ever opening his mouth and saying one thing in retort to her or say anything bad about her to anyone. He was a good man. Thus said, in our family, even my mom calls her mother a "witch". It has no religious connotation, but simply means she was of cruel and nasty nature. So please understand the use of "witch" can be in the "slang" of things. I also want you to know that I do understand your point. I am not unfamiliar with your beliefs and practices. My son practiced the same thing for a long time. His late wife was a Witch. They both were devout and "practiced"(I hope that is the right word, if not, please accept my apologies) openly. Although my son and I were deeply divided on this point, we still kept a good relationship. In America, one of the greatest freedoms is the freedom of religion. It was one of the greatest reasons that our forefathers fought so hard to establish this country. It is something that every generation of my family has fought to maintain too. So please, don't let the slang version of a word make you upset. My sisters and I have long used the word "witch" when we are bested by the other. Our use of the word "witch" towards each other is a term of endearment. So with that said may I send you "blessings" and please know that I often think of you and the others here in the group and that I pray for all of you as I go thru my days out in the fields. | | Reply
| | Hissy if it weren't for the fact that the word Witch was taken to be negative not good like Maggie said evil then today people wouldn't even use the word witch to describe a bad person so actually you just proved Maggies point it's as bad as the "N" word to some who are practicing Witch.....my daughter Mistie does and she too gets upset about the way Witch is used negativly...........................Dale | | Reply
| | Thank you Dale (((HUGS))), you were spot on. Hissy means well, I understand that. Blessings Maggie | | |

From: hissyspit01 | Sent: 28/04/2008 10:12 AM | In short, Hissy thinks that the world has lost sight! Has anyone looked to see the devil and his clan dancing all over the soul of the earth celebrating???? Society, and I am refering to the world over, has gotten so hung up over the use of words and so caught up in being politically correct that society, as a whole, has lost sight of what is really important. Worse yet, society, again in reference to all people worldwide, is feeding into a one world economy and a one world government that is designed to lead everyone astray from the truth. The people behind it are just loving the way that people are bickering over silly stuff and are even happier they can keep us divided. The more they divide us on silly issues, the easier it is for them to continue to do what they want. Personally, I try very hard not to be part of it. This old world is becoming a pretty sad place! There are so many things that need to be done and so much time is being lost on issues that are minor compared to others. There are children dying in every country in the world because of lack of food and disease. There are wars going on. Has anyone kept up on the microchip issue and seen where it is going and how it is going to be enforced????? Let's not let our feathers get ruffled by the small stuff, it's like rain, let it roll of your feathers like an old duck does. Instead, please, stand up, be counted, and don't let them suck you in! | | |

| | Hissy I don't understand why you had to get all Religious and Political over a thread that asked for Respect. I am not Religious, I just asked for respect of my standing as a Witch, and of course of the Dead, nothing more. Maggie | | |

Maggie, I wasn't trying to be religous. Personally I don't believe in religion in any form of the word. As far as I am concerned religion is came about because people wanted to make up a bunch of silly rules to set them apart and most of those rules don't amount to anything but hipocracy. I am Christian and the Good Book sets the parameters, not people. I also stand true in that everyone has or should have the freedom to worship in any form they choose and I have many friends who do not share my beliefs, but we respect each other and get along despite it. A lot of what I was saying was originally cited in a couple of old science fiction books that were written long ago before we had even thought of today's technology. Those books were awfully profetic and it's really kind of scary how true and on the money they were and are still. One spoke of Big Brother and the control it would have on this old world and the other spoke of genetic engineering and all sorts of things that are happening in today's world. I didn't mean to infer anything against your beliefs. My intention was to point out I think we are too easily distracted from the bigger issues by getting lost in the smaller issues that big government and those in control do everything they can to foster. Like I stated earlier, they abuse their powers by constantly turning the focus of all the different medias so that we get caught up in something silly and they can go about their ways and do what they want. Thus, the only thing that can reverse that "divide and conquer mentality" is to try and get people to stop getting caught up in the web. They can only thrive if we allow them to make us fight. I don't want to fight in those ways, it makes me sad. Anyways, with that said, I am going to back out of this whole mess. I feel like it's only go to the wayside. It's not worth ruffled feathers. I like you to much to go there. As you say "blessings" and to it I will add my "Amen". May mutual respect and love for all mankind always be the utmost goal of all. |
