I see a lot of unsubstantiated prose about what a bad guy Kerry is. I don't see one name, or one of those actual fiteness reports. I just see prose about them. Now, granted, I didn't look through the whole site, just a few pages. But I didn't ever see an actual report. Niether did I see any of the names of the people who they say served with him and who made any bad comments.
Regardless, somehow the man won a Silver Star and a Bronze star, and three purple hearts. They don't just give those away, you know. And guess what else? You can't apply for a purple heart yourself. You've got to have a wound obtained in the line of fire. Silver stars are obtained when you perform an act of heroism without regard to your own life while the enemy is shooting at you. Bronze stars are obtained when you perform an heroic act without regard to your own life. You don't put in for those yourself either. An officer above you has to put in for those, either based on what he or she saw, or based on what he or she is told about what you did by your comrades in arms.
He acknowledges becoming disillusioned with the war. That alone is enouigh to get a young officer bad fitness reports. I was in the service and I know just how easy it is to get bad fitness reports when the administrative jerk or REMF (and if you don't know what a REMF is I'm not about to tell you, but the first two words stand for Rear Echelon) above you doesn't like you for any reason whatsoever. He or she can torpedoe you for no reason, and no matter how good you are at what you do. REMF's are famous for doing that.
So read that crap and believe it if you want. I don't. At least he went. Bush didn't go at all. We know what he did. Nothing.
Now Bush starts wars and gets other people's kids killed. Oh he's tough all right, when it's not his butt out there on the line. I just love all these NeoCons, not a one of whom has seen real combat and all of whom are hot to go to war.
