to go broke paying for these men and women that serve our country now we tax payers have to pay 150,000.00 per man and women killed in combat zones as to where it was 1,500.00 i guess if we cant win we will buy our way out i think this is wrong we need to send our boys home and protect our own soil as they keep hitting our men and ladies 3to ten a day that isnt fair to the familys that have to burie their sons and daughter i see why they cant get recurits any more as they push to enlist or 18 yearold boys and gals i feel this nonsense needs to stop please let you congress men know we want our boys back homewhere they need to be shutting down 35 bases threw out the states is only going to hurt us jobs we need to wake up george has his way we will be broke for along time to come metro 3550

Metro,
I voted for Bush and there's alot of things I don't understand.
I don't understand why the big wigs up there in Congress don't have to pay social security taxes on their pay. I don't understand why we have to pay them the same salary when they retire. I don't understand why we have to pay their wives. They don't do one dang thing while their hubbies are wasting our money. I don't understand how the dems can "slow" down  the progress of Congress  when they don't approve of something that the repubs are doing. I don't understand how the senators from Texas could still get paid while they were in hiding to avoid splitting TX into new districts.  I don't understand how they can get out there every election year, with a straight face asking for our votes, saying they are going to help us, but once they get to the all mighty house, they forget their promises until next election.  We have a big fat dem sen down here that doesn't give a rat's butt about us, but yet he shows up at every craft show/parade with smiles and hugs. Last year I spoke my peace at one.  I didn't realize he was standing close,  but my sil sure did. She was trying to shush me. BUt did I care? NO.  I wanted him to hear the way ss was treating us. How we live each day.
Didn't mean for this to be so long...but you know me...I can be long winded.

Ummm, it's a Republican congress that voted for the budgets that have left the country in the largest deficit in it's history. 
 
And that's from the largest surplus in it's history.  Of course we know who gave us that...  But noooooo, we can't give HIM any credit.  After all, he got caught messing around.  Sheesh. 
 
It's like there's this mantra that the conservative right has taught people so they can chant it in response to anything
 
Bah, I could go on and on.  But you know what I've found out?  Those who don't want to see won't.  They close their eyes. 
 
Oh well, perhaps some day they will open them and see what's happening to our country, bought and paid for by corporate America.  Maybe then they would stand behind real campaign finance reform.

i agree dan it wont be long and we may be  a dicktator leadership country as if we let the army act as first responders as i agree with the law as we have it today the local goverment needs to request all aid as well as the sentors as well by each state or hell we will have lost our rights and then m arshell law will be no problem and then we may not be able to speak our minds metro 3550

as you requested the reason why they dont pay taxes is that they voted it in as a partof a pay hike two years ago at a level of 50%more than they used to make .. for serving the public!! as i say its all about the pork in the barrol??? and rember as a lobbies you can protest.  but its all voted on buy the house, and then approved by the president. so i hope that answered your question. metro3550
