I read in the paper today a tip for weeds. They say spray vinegar into the cracks of a driveway and it will kill and prevent weeds. Have you ever heard of this? I may try it with vinegar being so cheap. |

I just found info on this under tips that Adair had posted last year. Here is her link. I started remembering something about it so I went to look. |

Uh, that was three years ago, not one. So I forgive my lack of memory here. LOL!! |

Yes, I have tried it and it works. The acid kills the plants...problem.. I found I had to reapply often because it neutralizes and then new weed seeds start and grow, well, like weeds. But, it is entirely environmentally safe, so I say, go for it. |

I'm glad to hear it does work for sure. I will be doing mine. Do you know how long it takes to kill them? |

you may have to do it two or three times depending on how big the weed is. it won't be gone forever, but it does keep the weeds down from growing in the crackes in the driveway. if i was trying to grow a plant or flower it would grow but a weed is something else. theresa |

forgot to mention that i have used regular table salt put in on the weeds in the crackers in the driveway. and worked it into the weeds a few hours before it rained. then the rain washed the salt into the roots and in a few days the weeds would turn brown and died. table salt is cheap too. theresa |

When I was a kid living on a farm in Pennsylvania my Mother always poured boiling water over weeds. It killed them immediately. I have used the method myself but you have to be careful not to splash and not to pour right next to anything you want to save. That's my 2 cents; for what it's worth!TR |
