Prisclla Died in 1949 at 42, Belmont Road .Which we know is a Hospital. Home address was 351, Queens Drive, Liverpool. I have the Birth,  Marrage Certs for Douglas & Prisclla. And Prscilla's Death Cert.

When Prisclla died John was brought up by his Grandmother Doris.

We know John went to school in Liverpool before he joined the Army and Married Sandra Holden. On leaving the Amy John & Sandra lived in Oldham. We know John's history after he Married.

But have  hit a brick wall on tracing Doris & her son Douglas, Also the kays. I hope someone may be able to help.  Thank you

Hello Sheila

This is Kay and I will see if I can help trace your ancestors.

Initially I have been looking for the birth of Doris Moorhouse and the only one that fits the dates and area is as follows:

Doris Moorhouse Pedigree
  Female

Event(s):
Birth:
13 JAN 1908   Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Christening:
Death:
Burial:

I'm wondering if Doris has Douglas at the young age of just 16 - perhaps hence the reason no father was registered.  It's only a suggestion you understand, trying to think along the lines of why the circumstances maybe as they are.

I did find the birth of a Doris Catherine Moorcroft in 1907 and wondered if perhaps this could be a mistrancription.  Again, just another thought.

I will see if there is anything to indicate the parents of Doris (as above) and post if I can find information.

Hi Kay
I also found both of them, she is down on Douglas's Birth Cert as Doris Catherine.
We don't think she was married either, anything you can find will br great
Thank you
Sheila

Hi Sheila

I'm sorry it's taken so long to get back to you and I'm also sorry I'm not going to be very helpful!  I've been looking to see if I can find Doris to see if that leads us to her parents/siblings BUT the problem is we have no firm leads, purely because we don't know who we are actually looking for in the 1901 census - there are other Doris Moorhouses listed and we can't be sure just which one is correct.

Even the suggestion that you apply for Douglas' birth certificate doesn't mean we will be any further forward on the parentage - it's not out of the question that only the mother's name will be listed - that wouldn't give us any leads on HER parents.

I'm starting to feel the only thing we can do is literally wait for the release of the 1911 census - I know this is not what you want to hear but I'm struggling to think of any other way around it.

However, if I do come across something for you, naturally I will be pleased to post it.  Likewise, if you think of anything else I can help with, do let me know.  My apologies that I've not been at all helpful on this matter!
