My heart is just broken. Our Kaeli wasn't eating so Irv brought her into the vets yesterday thinking it might be her tooth bothering her again. When Irv returned from the Vets in a few hours I was somewhat surprised to see Kaeli back home again as I fully expected for them to keep her in clean her tooth like before. When he came through the door I knew right away it was more than her tooth. He told me then that he brought her home to die as the vet found a very large tumour on her kidney. The vet did remove some of the tartar off the tooth in hopes that maybe Kaeli might want food to get nourishment into her. Kaeli ate very little after she came home which is a horrible indication of what we have to do this week, and that is to get her euthanized. She is such a small feline to start with that she will starve to death in front of our eyes and I vowed we would never put a cat through that agony again. It will probably be early this week.
Thank you ever so very much, Ros. These are the toughest days we have had in a long while. We are blessed with beautiful animals and it seems as if in no time flat, they part from us.

yes it's very hard when one has to make the ultimate life/death decision, particularly when your pet has been with you for many years, as they become part of the family.
but on the other hand, allowing them to linger on in pain i think is worse.
Maggie dear, I feel so bad about Kaeli your poor little furry kid! I know what you are going through now. I still miss all my babies that have gone. There is an empty spot when they are gone, a deep hole in the heart.
