The reindeers in Sweden has owners, the Sami people. They have lived and worked with the reindeers for thousands of years before. They had a roving life, moving with the reindeers to the fjeld in summertime and back to the woods before winter. Today the Sami people keep houses and use helicopters and horses. No Swede is allowed to own reindeers. It is also forbidden to hunt reindeer, as they are the Sami peoples property. When a white reindeer is borne, it is a precious little deer to give a special treat!
