During World War 2 he was an anti-aircraft instructor, rank of Captain. He was one of the first British Officers to enter Auschwitz. Janet Farrar ( nee Owen ) became involved in the Craft after a friend started regularly visiting the Sanders. She was from a Christian background and went along to dissuade her friend from becoming involved, but was impressed by the structure of Wicca. They moved to the Republic of Ireland in 1976 where they lived and worked together as writers and operated a coven. Then in 1988 they returned to England for a while but in 1993 returned to Ireland. It was there that they were joined by Gavin Bone with whom they entered into a polyfidelitous relationship. The three of them co-authored two more books- The Healing Craft and The Pagan Path. The Farrar's books including The Witches Bible, have becaome some of the most influential in Witchcraft.
