Random members of Staff and hangers on... I was just wondering about all the "random members of staff", the ones that didn't teach, including all cleaners (and the alike) or the teachers that only stayed a little while, including all the hangers on that lurked around the school - seemingly doing nothing. The sort of thing I'm after is NOT the "Psycho Peters" or the "Don Dons" but the guys like Keith (I think that was his name, the grounds keeper guy, I think he had some rude song about him), Wolly the cook, Melvin Hall of the blue boiler suit fame, and Doug the small cornish bloke everyone thought was indian. So if you can think of any of the "randoms" that for some reason may have had some notoriety, especially if you got a good tale tell about them, then reply to this message..

Thats right her name was Anne Smith. I wish I had been the only boy living at a Girls school.
I didn't know JL got expelled I remember meeting him in Aldershot he joined the Para's.
Hi  Tony which one are you? Will make the Mini Reunion if humanly possible.

I know Tony Cann was going out with another cleaner but was he expelled? I dont remember. I never got in trouble for seeing Jill and as far as I know nor did John Lance.

Surely I never gave you a hard time and I dont remember you crashing my well loved FS1E. I do remember having 4 people on it going down to the Pub but 2 had to walk up the school drive.

What was the name of that Girls school "St Something"  across the Quantocks. I remember walking it was bloody miles.

Nick

Glad to hear from you. Yes I joined the Signals after I left the school in fact I've recently left and am now a civy living in Poole.

Hi to everyone that remembers me

John

John, have a look at D24 in the 1974 photo, that's me with hair. I used to be called "Antony", but I have changed that to "Tony" now!

I remember playing badders with you once or twice, and I also remember you and James Cabourne fighting at some car rally event, or was that Bret Gregson and JC?

Tony

I remember you now, nice to hear from you.

I only had one fight with James Caborne in the snooker room about a week after I joined the school. He thought he was hard so I had to put him in his place.

John,

I do not think that John Lance got expelled,or Tony Cann,I believe that JL left of his own will and stayed awhile with Jill.
The school was St.Audries, and I for one was glad it was there!!.

As for "kipper lip" Caborne, he tried to steal my girlfriend(Now wife) and even had a date with her in London!!. She turned him down as he was dog ugly.

Cheers,
Nick.

I forgot thats what we called JC no guesses for the reason why.
Fancy that marrying your childhood sweet heart.
I was looking through old message boards "1975 Group Photo" and you were asking after me. Spooky a few monthes later I turn up on the site. You also asked after Rick Drover I expect you already know but he is a member under name Rigor I think.
I was only thinking a while ago, I'm only in contact with one person from my school days. I should have joined the site ages ago as my younger brother Mark Rose has been a member for monthes.
Talking about Mark he had a hard time in 76 (the year after I left) I think he had ideas above his station after spending his first year as a 1st former being looked after by his big brother. Mind you if taught me a lesson I always get my son to fight his own battles.

John,

I have been in touch with Rick recently by e-mail.He is okay I think, although he does sound a bit lonely when he starts to talk about life in general.

Anyway, did you serve a huge amount of time in the Signals and what do you make of the adjustment to civvy street.I remember my old man trying to adjust but simply travelling the globe working for ex-army types.Once in the blood I suppose.

It would be good to meet up again if you could make the reunion.

Nick.

( most times its good to marry your sweetheart, but do not tell Yvonne)

I also was in the same year as Lee Rowland and Also went back to teach computing at the same time as Lee bassed on the training I had at college and the fact that bt laid of 13000 senior programmers wich kind of killed the market for green college leavers in the area.

Ah Julian Mackey,

How did you slip through the screening net !!! (I did not think former teachers were supposed to be on the site!!)
Glad to hear from you though.  But tell me why ever did you go back ?  Were you invited ?

What are you up to know ?

Come to think of it you could be a good source of information.  What went on in the staff room, that sort of thing.

Regards,

Marcus (Charlie)

Marcus Sorry about delay in replying
I was trained in teaching as part of my computer training. Whent british telecom laid of 1500 of the most senior progreammers in the country I was kind of at a loose end so rather than packing chickens in the local factory I aproached Mr Peaster. I only stayed for a year and have now been a profesional photographer for more than 10 years. On the subjeck of the staff room from what I can remember is was smoked out and very coniving.

John Lance was expelled along with me and another chap i can't remember his name.  I was from HK so it was difficult to send me home and i ended up being grounded at the school.  John and the other chap left.  It was drinking that got us expelled not his fling.
