Had this idea for a story and then just jotted down some tidbits...so a story poem? lol
Desert Hermit
The old prof built an adobe style home in an isolated part of the desert. The closest town was mostly Natives, they were very good to him
An elder spoke to the young ones He told of how the old prof was a hermit but not to be feared, for his heart was good The life brought him to them, to their land
One day he drove into the village he went there for supplies and company stopping by the cafe the Sunlight Surrender Old prof loved that place, it just felt like home
Mary and her daughter Melinda ran it The elders all gathered around old prof asking of his new venture, the tower of glass, his long glass so he could watch the stars
There was laughter all around and joy he had a lot of stories he told the natives never tired of hearing them He told of the falling stars, the meteorites
He said he gathered the remains he found out in the desert, where he wandered alone The elder now spoke about the wonders He asked old prof to speak of his visions
Old prof being a desert hermit feared nothing he just got lonely, he told them to drop by and see the tower, if they came at night they could view the moon & star constellations
Soon said the elder, I will come I'll teach you our ways Old prof said his goodbyes on the way home, a coyote crossed his path
