I lost my father last week to a six month illness. He suffered greatly the last two. I wrote this just as a statement of my belief. I don't see it as a finality only a respite. He deserves the peace I believe he found and all the love, joy and happiness that will shower him. No more suffering!!..
Mansion in Heaven
He had suffered so He built many bridges to carry us across
Now we had to carry him to his resting place Yet he was not there He had already flown
He had taught us the cowboy way riding our horses across the grassy plains He taught us to turn the soil to sow our seed Our harvest was usually exceptional
He had taught us that way of sweat and blood We owed him our respect as he respected us
My brother and I buried our Father today
Now he had a mansion far away in heavens kingdom An angel showed him the way So he had flown
