Memory is a good thing?

I remember your bare back
as you walked away
and memory is a good thing
if you can relive the past
I long to touch you
hold you tightly to me
before you walk away again

Yet you walk away like before
without ever having been touched

I remember youth
now we grown apart
many years later like two strangers
like shapes shifting in the light
meeting in the night

I am touching you
in this dream of reliving the past

It’s a tickle, a passion
running through my heart
and I look upon you now
wishing to relive this memory
your bare back
goes untouched
longing was all we had

If we should meet in the future
or today
I would touch you
You would feel it too
if we could just live for the moment

Would you walk away like before,
without ever being touched?

Your back was bare and beautiful
My longing was deep and a fantasy
it’s all we have in this life
lost souls that we are, having forgotten
the past can’t be relived

Memory is a good thing
when the past isn’t changed
I touched your bare back today
