Last night
I had the strangest dream
I was in a play
And not long after I
Stepped on stage
I forgot my lines and
Had to adlib everything.
Everyone was mad at me
Saying I'd ruined the play
They ripped off my costume
Telling me they were going
To find a replacement
With tears in my eyes
I went to
My friend in the show
Who said, don't give in
They cast you, so they
Know you have talent
Water works flow
My husband is the talent,
Not me, I wail, they're going to
Put someone in my place
But you, my friend, say,
Stay. They have no one
And the show must go on.
You'll show them.
I must go on, but
You come on right after me
Take the back way and
Make a grand entrance.
I ride up an esculator
That's out of order
Rising up on the black blocks
I reach the top. I
Enter, stealing the scene.
As soon as you
Hear word of what has occurred
You come to my aid
I refuse to let them
Treat you this way, you proclaim
Rushing to me
With a kiss
You don't need me, you exclaim,
Your beauty and talent shines
Tonight and every night
Your lips, tender and demanding,
Press against mine
I love you! You say in
A husky whisper
Come lay with me tonight.
It's with you
That I have a
Love so true
I can not wait to
Melt into you
Only then all will be
Right.
