Happy Mother's Day! Mother's Day is a day to celebrate the miracle of birth that mothers have given their children. It is a day to celebrate the miracle of a mother's tender, nurturing love. It is a day to celebrate the miracle of a mother's never-ending, soft smile. It is a day to celebrate the miracle of a mother's gentle hands on a child's boo-boo. It is a day to celebrate the miracle of thousands of things that mothers do -- just because they are mothers. It is a day to celebrate the miracle of mothers. ©MokijuneRaentree My Mom, Ruby Church, passed away when she was but 39. I was going into my Junior year of high school. Hard age for me without my Mom. Mom was sick from April 1 - August 30. I have missed her every day of my life. But thank God for the wonderful memories I have. When she was so very ill from the cancer inside her, she always tried so hard to give to all her children. Beside me I have a sister, younger than me, a brother older, then there were 2 babies really. Walter, my youngest brother 5 and Joe was 7. She gave to each of us all she had. I never saw any "why me" nor anger about any of it on her face. She never knew I heard her crying when she was suppose to be resting. I will always fell the love and wonderful hugs she gave us. And when she was well, all those warm wash cloths each morning to wake us up when we crawled out of bed for school. She did that for each little rotten kid she had. She was a wonderful Mom and deserved a very special day of her own. Even though I am a Mom, I have never matched close to the Mom she was to me. CYLENE May 13, 2007 MY MOM WAS ONLY 18 WHEN I WAS BORN..SHE IS A YOUNG 72 NOW..SHE DONT LOOK HER AGE..MY DAD PASS 5 YRS AGO THIS MONTH..SHE IS STILL DOING WHAT SHE LIKES TO DO..LOVES SPENDING TIME WITH HER 2 GREATGRAND KIDS AND WAITING FOR THE 3 TO BE HERE IN MAY. JAN YOHO APRIL 26, 2007 My mom was born in Germany as was I. She was 18 when she had me and was going with my dad who was in the army. This was in 1949. When I was 5 my mom and I came to America to be with my dad. We ended up in Columbus Georgia or rather Fort Benning. It was a big change for my mom and probably for me. Neither one of us could speak english. It must have scared my mother to be that young and with a child to come to another country where she couldn't speak the language. She always told me she wishes she had never left Germany and it was because of me that she came because my mother said her mother was not going to be the talk of the town that her daughter was easy. So her mother made her come to america. She missed it terrible and always said she wishes she had not come. In fact she was in the Hitler youth and believed a lot of what he preached. According to her he wasn't all bad. Thats my mother. SHIRLEY APRIL 27, 2007 |
